Overview

Banasthali Vidyapith is India’s largest fully residential NAAC A++ accredited (CGPA 3.63) all-women deemed-to-be university, nestled in the serene Aravalli ranges of Rajasthan. Founded on 6 October 1935 and granted deemed university status in 1983, it is recognised by the UGC and approved by AICTE, NCTE, PCI, BCI and COA. What sets Banasthali apart is its distinctive Panchmukhi Shiksha (Five-Fold Education) model, which blends intellectual, physical, practical, aesthetic and moral training into everyday learning.
The university operates a single, expansive 850-acre residential campus at Banasthali in Tonk district, near Jaipur, housing over 15,000 women students. Uniquely, it runs its own licensed airfield where students can train in flying and gliding — a rare feature among Indian universities. The campus offers smart classrooms, modern laboratories, well-stocked libraries, hostels, sports complexes and dedicated innovation and research centres.
Academically, Banasthali Vidyapith offers 30+ programmes across engineering, pharmacy, law, management, computing, sciences, commerce, arts, design, journalism, education and fine arts at UG, PG and doctoral levels. Flagship programmes include B.Tech, B.Pharm, MBA, MCA, integrated law degrees (BA LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB), B.Arch, B.Des and PhD programmes. Admissions to most professional courses are through the Banasthali Aptitude Test (BUAT).
The university enjoys strong national and global recognition — ranked #66 among Indian universities (NIRF 2025), #22 in Pharmacy and #71 in Engineering, making it the only women’s university in the NIRF top 100. It also features in QS Asia Rankings 2026 (#741) and THE World University Rankings 2026. With a placement rate of around 87%, recruiters such as Deloitte, Wipro, Accenture, KPMG, EY, Oracle and Cipla visit the campus regularly, making Banasthali a trusted destination for women’s higher education in India.
