Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) is a NAAC-accredited, UGC-recognised state university located in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1975 and renamed in 1997, MJPRU has grown into one of the largest public universities in the Rohilkhand region, functioning through its main residential campus spread over 206 acres along Pilibhit Bypass Road, Bareilly, with an extensive network of 560+ affiliated colleges across western Uttar Pradesh.
The university is organised into six faculties – Engineering & Technology, Management, Applied Sciences, Advanced Social Sciences, Education & Allied Sciences, and Legal Studies – offering more than 2,400 programmes across UG, PG, diploma, and doctoral levels. Its flagship courses include B.Tech, B.Pharm, MBA, MCA, and B.Ed, with popular specialisations in Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. MJPRU also ranks among the country’s notable pharmacy institutions, holding an NIRF 2025 Pharmacy rank of #86.
Admissions at MJPRU are conducted through national and state-level entrance examinations such as JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, UPTAC counselling, and university-level entrance tests. - Placement rate: Approximately 70% of eligible students secure placements or job offers through on-campus, off-campus, and internship drives.
