Overview
Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University (RMPSSU) is a UGC-recognized state university established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Popularly known as RMPSU Aligarh, the university was set up under a State Act in 2019 and commenced full academic operations from 2021. It functions as a residential-cum-affiliating university, catering to the higher education needs of the Aligarh region and nearby districts of western Uttar Pradesh, with its permanent campus on Palwal Road, Lodha, Aligarh, and a camp office at Civil Lines, Aligarh.
The university offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Computer Applications, Fine Arts, and Vocational Studies. Its popular courses include BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, LLB, BA LLB (Hons.), B.Ed, M.Ed, BFA, B.Voc, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, LLM, MFA, PGDCA, and Ph.D., with 20+ degree levels and 350+ course combinations available across the university and its affiliated colleges. Admissions are primarily merit-based, and the university also accepts national-level entrance scores such as CUET as per state norms.
One of the biggest highlights of RMPSSU is its highly affordable fee structure, making quality higher education accessible to students from all economic backgrounds. - RMPSSU Aligarh has a dedicated Career Counselling and Placement Cell that organises career guidance sessions, workshops, guest lectures, and campus recruitment drives
- The placement cell screens recruiters and helps students secure placements in genuine workplaces across education, banking, IT, commerce, and government sectors
