Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya), Varanasi is a NAAC ‘A’ Grade accredited state university and one of the largest Sanskrit universities in the world. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by NCTE, the university was established in 1958 and carries forward a scholarly tradition that dates back to 1791, making it one of the oldest seats of Sanskrit learning in India.
The university is headquartered on a lush green urban campus at Jagatganj, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and is an affiliating university with 600+ Sanskrit colleges spread across Uttar Pradesh and beyond. SSVV was the first university in Uttar Pradesh to secure an NAAC ‘A’ grade, and in its third accreditation cycle (2025) it reaffirmed its quality with a strong CGPA, reflecting its consistent academic standards.
