Uttarakhand Ayurved University (UAU), Dehradun is a premier state public university established in 2009 by the Government of Uttarakhand under the Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act, 2009. Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and regulated by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), the university is the apex body for AYUSH education in Uttarakhand, imparting quality education, training and research in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Unani systems of medicine.
The university functions through multiple campuses — the Faculty of Ayurveda (Main Campus) at Harrawala, Dehradun, along with the historic Rishikul Campus, Haridwar, the Gurukul Campus, Haridwar, and the Kotdwar Campus, Pauri Garhwal. It also governs 19 affiliated colleges offering education in Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic and Unani sciences across the state, and conducts the state-level AYUSH counselling for BAMS, BHMS and BUMS admissions.
UAU offers a comprehensive range of programmes including BAMS, BHMS and BUMS at the undergraduate level, MD and MS in Ayurveda at the postgraduate level, Ph.D. in multiple specialisations, along with Diploma and PG Diploma courses in Panchkarma Therapy, Ksharakarma, Yoga and Naturopathy, Swasthvritta and Marma Science. Admissions to UG and PG programmes are through NEET UG and AIAPGET respectively, ensuring merit-based selection.
